Design, like life, is a process. I believe that unusual paths, unique experiences, detours and the journey are just as important as the destination.
I had the privilege to begin my journey working for Food & Wine Magazine, developing many of the skills required to bring a design from paper to reality; organization, timeliness and attention to detail.
In 2005, I received my Masters degree in Interior Design from the Savannah College of Art & Design before returning home. I promptly took a worthwhile detour accepting a position as a buyer within a local retail group; fine tuning essential customer service and sourcing skills. Much like a buyer, an interior designer needs to develop the abililty to understand their clients and what they are looking for.
My path eventually led me to Sash & Trim; an interior product showroom specializing in window treatments, where I spent 8 1/2 years working as an on-staff designer. I was lucky enough to go to work everyday surrounded by a sea of amazing fabrics!
It was during that time I began working on and creating my BOXED [INTERIOR] concept aimed at offering clients a more cost-effective approach to decorating. Boxed [Interior] is for the "do it yourself" homeowner that wants the expertise and guidance, but does not need a full service decorator to execute the design.
Last year Jenn Butterworth Interiors became a full-time venture, which has been super rewarding! I love what I do. And, I love working with my clients to help them create the beautiful functional spaces they want for their home.
I look forward to creating a custom Boxed [Interior] for your room!
